Doug Flegg, Strategic Advisor
Doug has over 30 years of mining and mining finance experience, with a technical background in Geology bolstered by over 20 years of mining-related capital markets experience in portfolio management and global equity sales.
Doug has built a strong reputation as a trusted advisor and strategist with deep insights into mining corporate strategy, having partnered and built close working relationships with Mining CEOs, Senior Management teams, and top institutional investors.
Prior to joining Cairn Merchant Partners, Doug was Managing Director of Global Mining Sales for BMO Capital Markets, where he played a significant role in raising $25 Billion in over 200 mining financings and was voted "Top Gun" mining sales in a Brendan Woods Survey.
Prior to joining BMO, Doug worked as a Portfolio Manager and Co-head of Canadian Equities at UBS Global Asset Management where he was responsible for their mining investments. Doug started his career as an Exploration Geologist in Northern Ontario and Newfoundland. He graduated from the Queen's School of Business with an MBA, he has a BSc. (Honours Geology) degree from Queen's and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
